San Telmo Antique Market

Today is our last day in Buenos Aires. We go home speaking more Spanish and dancing better tango. Not ready yet for dancing with the stars.

San Telmo is gearing up for the Antique Market. There will be lots of people and many many kiosks selling silver, jewellery, mate mugs, clothes, shoes, paintings, crystal etc. etc.

We will hang out at our favourite cafe, Cafe Dorrego and people watch. There is no more room in the suitcases so shopping is over.

We leave 30 degree weather for a cold 3 degrees in Vancouver. Anyway back to reality and actually we are looking forward to going home and seeing family and friends and yes getting ready for Christmas.

Dining and tango Buenos Aires

We have found fabulous restaurants here. The latest find is the Pescadores Club or Fisherman´s Club and the lomo steak in 3 peppercorn sauce was exquisite. It was served with creamy potatoes stacked and plantain decoration.

Just finished our tango classes at Hotel Dandi in San Telmo. Nahuel and Noelia are the teachers. They are brother and sister and have been dancing since they were kids. They are just fantastic. We bought their DVD and it is very helpful.

Argentine Polo

We went to two polo matches yesterday. The teams that played were La Dolfina y Chapa Uno. They were fabulous. The season here now ends and they teams move to Palm Beach. Can´t believe that each player has a minimum of 8 horses and each season new horses. You have to have very deep pockets.
